News06/14/08 Time for a big update! As many of you have noticed or read about on the front page, I have been out of commission for almost a month. We moved from an apartment to a cute little 1950's house back on May 15th. A dream come true! Little did we know that getting internet access in the new house would turn out to be a total nightmare.... I ordered DSL for the new house from our long time internet provider back on May 15th. I was told it would take 5-7 days to get switched on. I thought 'Sweet!' I can be without for a week. But then 7 days came and went and we still were not getting a dsl signal on the modem. So I called to inquire about my order....and was told that they had no record of my order. So I placed my order again and was told it would be another 5-7 days. I was given a temporary dial up number to use, but the dial up connection was so slow I couldn't get my website data or emails to load and the damn thing would hang up on my after a few minutes. So it was useless. Another 7 days come and go and STILL no DSL signal. So I call again, and my call is dispatched to a call center outside the US. I am put on hold for 20 minutes while a tech support person tries to look up my order on the computer. I am asked 'Did you move and change your phone number? We have no record of your new number'. I am livid. Two weeks with out access to my business and these people STILL can't get my order straight! So I freak out and demand they get my service turned on asap. I am put on hold again for another 20 minutes while they 'check the line' to figure out why my DSL is not working. I am told they need more time and to call back tomorrow. So I call back the next day and get the same rig-a-marol...on hold forever, tech support can't figure out what is going on, a few TS people tell me they have no record of my new order, some do. This goes on everyday for about 10 days during which I am accidentally hung up on several times and have to call back and talk to a phone robot for 20 minutes each time to get a human on the phone. Week 3 I call and am told they have listed my order as beng 'activated' and closed my trouble ticket....yet my DSL is still not working! So I demand to talk to a manager who tells me.....'We are sorry but DSL service is not available in your house'. Let me repeat that....after over 3 weeks of fighting tech support they are just now telling me I can't get DSL? I am dumbfounded it took them 3 weeks to tell me this. After all the hell of dealing with TS and calling every freaking day. Words can't describe that level of incompetence. She then tells me that she personally called my phone carrier (AT&T) and they told her my home was not wired for dsl. I know some people can not get dsl that live way out of the city in the sticks, but I live in the middle of LA! It just didn't ring true to me. So I canceled my account with them (who shall remain nameless....I don't want them to get their knickers in a twist for slander if I say their name here. But I will say that their name starts with a 'E') and called AT&T myself to ask if I could order dsl. Anyhoo. I am back on-line now and I am starting to clean up the mess that was caused by the DSL snafu. I am so embarrassed about this. I have a lot of apology emails to write and a lot of refunds to give out to some of you who are very angry with me. I hope those of you who had delayed orders can find it in your hearts to forgive me for the crazy mishap. I'll be sending you all apology emails this week as I get caught up from the long month I was cut off from the world. ~Leigh Ann Hopkins 04/10/08 Mkay. She makes the most amazing hand painted leopard print hair flowers you have ever seen. They are so well made! I to date have seven of them in several colors. And I want more! This adorable retro summer dress is made out of stretchy cotton poplin. It has a halter neck and a full 360 degree circle skirt bottom. I also got this fab new ring in from El Dorado that is part of their Victorian style mourning jewelry collection. It is a sterling silver plated ring wih a big black glass stone with two crossed pistols and glass rhinestone details. I makes me think if the old west. ('Live by the gun, die by the gun'). This skirt is made out a fantastic 50's repro limited edition thick black cotton canvas with white polka dots and cherries all over! It sits low on the waist just below your belly button. It has two black square pockets in the front that are trimmed with red lace and have cute red polka dotty bows with cherries on them. The back of the skirt has POOFY cha-cha waterfall bustle/ruffles jetting out below the butt that end a few inches below the hem of the skirt. Each ruffle is made out of black organza that is trimmed with red lace and black ruffle lace. I have sized sml-2XL made and ready to ship.
